At the local level, this project aims to actively counter gentrification by keeping the current population in place through inclusive housing strategies. It questions dominant models of residential development and seeks to embed circular practices into the fabric of urban life.
At the national scale, The Frontline serves as an architectural solution tailored to the Netherlands’ unique environmental pressures, from water management to energy scarcity. It proposes a new kind of hybrid: part dike, part dwelling, part commercial center.
On a global scale, the project addresses the broader challenges of climate change by proposing a model of energy-efficient, self-sufficient urbanism that is adaptable and resilient.
